HYBRID STYLE FRAME (2D+3D)
THE IDEA
Create a style frame which incorporates the likes of both 2D and 3D media/assets that feels unified and demonstrates strong compositing skills, maintaining clear depth, mood and hierarchy.
To accomplish this, I wished to create a style frame which utilized a colorful and playful looking dinosaur and contrast it with harsh, dull gray buildings with details on said buildings being the primary 2D element.
The relationship between cityscape and dinosaur is to reflect on the human population’s constant use of fossil fuels, playing on how society is ran on the backs of these ancient beasts.
MOODBOARD
The stylization of the dinosaur is meant to be playful and innocent in order to contrast the dull city fully grown onto its back. This in turn means for rounded shape language, larger more round proportions, and minimal detail will be utilized to achieve this almost childlike imagery.
PREVIOUS ITERATIONS
Several iterations were produced in the making of this project, with the goal of each one evolving after one another in order to improve before reaching the ultimate final result.
